Because reinstalling the driver did not work, the 64-bit file might not have been automatically sent to the correct folder. Then use the following step to perform manually:

First download the latest version of the VIA HD Audio Deck driver.
Once you have downloaded, unzip the files to an easily accessible location and install normally by clicking SETUP.
When finished, it will prompt you to restart Select 'No, I'll do this later'.
Now open the folder where you unzipped the driver files, you will have a folder named 'VIAHDAud' Click on it, then go to 'Present', and finally 'VDeck64'.
Copy everything into the 'VDeck64' folder and paste the files into 'C: Program Files (x86) VIA VIAudioi VDeck'

Once this is done, it will be possible to open the VIA HD Audio Deck and have access to some settings.

This got rid of the error message but left me with no sound. Please help. (I can't see any settings on the Audio Deck that might explain this.) Thanks.
