I always found this to be a bit greedy on Apples part. That I must pay again to change my ringtone to a custom ringtone ( a song ). Also, the uses of itunes just ruin what should be a simple change into a complicated endeavor. When I set up my wife's iPhone 4S a few years ago with a ring tone from a song she bought in the 80's, it took me hours to figure out how to do it. The steps are similarly convoluted. It involved changing some iTunes settings, too.These instructions are for using a PC. I would be interested to see how it is done on the Mac.
